Realta Fusion is a rapidly growing start-up developing compact magnetic mirror fusion energy systems to address the biggest challenge of our time – tackling global climate change while ensuring a sufficient energy supply for at least ten billion people on (and off) earth. Realta is targeting the need to decarbonize industrial process heat as the fastest path to full-scale deployment of our technology. We are building a team with diverse talents dedicated to making fusion energy a real solution to humanity’s most pressing problem.

The Community Relations Manager is responsible for interfacing Realta with public and private organizations, promoting Realta Fusion’s mission, and sharing our innovations. This position works closely with the VP of Business Operations, the VP of Technical Development, and the CEO.

Responsibilities

  1. Promote the development of a local, regional, and national fusion ecosystem. Coordinate private sector and public sector allies, partners, collaborators, and stakeholders. Support and manage collaborations and joint initiatives to increase public awareness of and support for fusion energy.
  2. Own creation and delivery of Realta Fusion’s Community Benefit Plan. Organize and plan events, (e.g. conferences, tradeshows, social events). Interface Realta with local, regional, and federal agencies.
  3. Represent Realta in work with trade organizations (e.g. the Fusion Industry Association), state and federal government agencies, including the Department of Energy. Coordinate responses to state and federal Requests for Information (RFIs) and Funding Opportunity Announcements (FOAs).
  4. Plan and execute communication campaigns to promote Realta’s mission and Realta’s progress. Interface with collaborators and vendors where needed (e.g. business executives, scientists, photographers, journalists, etc.). Maintain a primary communication calendar for multi-channel messaging.
  5. Schedule, create, and manage recurring and one-off communications including: social media, website, multi-media content, graphics, events, blog posts, emailers, press releases, presentation materials, and others as needed.

Required Qualifications

  1. Education: BS (+ 5 years experience) in public relations, political science, or a related field (such as communications).
  2. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal, public presentation)
  3. Expert at drafting and editing publications and documents in standard office applications (i.e. M365) and Adobe Creative Suite or similar.
  4. Ability to work in fast-paced, multidisciplinary, and results-driven start-up environment.
